Safety & Contraindications

“Children have been fatally poisoned by eating the roots. Symptoms include frothing at the mouth, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, dilated pupils, delirium, tremors, and periodic violent convulsions alternating with brief relaxations. Convulsions may be so violent that vomiting is prevented, and the tongue may be chewed up. Death is due to cardiac or respiratory failure”. Too lethal to use, with poisonous compounds like in Poison Hemlock, it is highly toxic. Do not confuse with edible members of the celery family.
