Not covered. “Health hazards not known with proper therapeutic dosages”. Overdoses may cause death, with anxiety, convulsions, increased cardiac and pulmonary activity, muscle tremors, salivation, spasms, and vomiting. Excessive doses are poisonous, causing salivation, vertigo, general anesthesia, partial facial paralysis, swollen tongue, and turbid vision. Even in small doses manacine induces strong muscular tremors and epileptiform cramps, hypothermia, and death from respiratory paralysis in experimental animals.
