3 g powdered leaf, internally, for ameba and ulcer.
Safety & Contraindications
Class 2a. Not covered. “Hazards and/or side effects not recorded for proper therapeutic dosages”. Tannin may cause stomach problems. Extracts contain in vitro Mycobacterium tuberculosis as 5 mg/ml; ethanol-water extracts hepatoprotective with no effect on bile flow. MLD = >2000 mg/kg orl mouse, LD50 = >1000 mg/kg ipr mouse.
